The Argentine Malbec chosen to represent the country at the Gala Dinner served in Colón Theater’s Golden Hall for the G20 leaders was Rutini Apartado Gran Malbec 2014. The iconic argentine variety accompanied the main course of the most important night of this summit: loin, morels, artichoke, potato and smoked cream, prepared by EAT Catering.

That night, after a reception, the G20 leaders were entertained with “Argentum”, a show directed by Ricky Pashkus. With the food as well as with the show the organizers sought to display the salient characteristics of Argentina. On stage traditional dances and different types of music were performed, while impressive landscapes changed to the sound of music. Eighty-four artists and seventy-five musicians enlivened the stage. The show also featured guest figures such as Julio Bocca and Mora Godoy.

EAT Catering, owned by Tommy Perlberger, Josie Bridge and Bruno Guillot was in charge of the food service and the decoration was designed by Martín Roig. Roig had already distinguished himself on occasion of the Bicentennial Gala.

On Friday’s event the color note of the decoration were the centerpieces made with foliage of typical trees of the country, arriving from different points of Argentina. President Mauricio Macri and First Lady Juliana Awada were the hosts of this evening. Donald Trump, Angela Merkel, Vladimir Putin, Emmanuel Macron, Christine Lagarde, Justin Trudeau, Saudi Prince Mohammed, the Chinese president Xi Jinping and Queen Máxima Zorreguieta were some of the guests of this charming evening.
